About Me

I’m a clinical counsellor based in Victoria, BC. My aim is to create a steady, grounded, emotionally attuned space where what you carry can be explored and understood. I listen closely, move at a respectful pace, and work with you to support meaningful change.

My style is warm, collaborative, and clear. Whether you’ve been to therapy before or not, I’ll meet you where you are—with presence, not pressure.

Clinical Areas of Interest

I specialize in helping clients heal from complex trauma, developmental/attachment trauma, and men’s issues:

Complex trauma is the lasting impact of repeated experiences of abuse, neglect, or relational harm, especially in childhood. It doesn’t always come back as clear memories; instead, it often shows up as emotional struggles like anxiety, depression, or shame; feeling shut down or disconnected; or turning to coping strategies that no longer help. These experiences can leave you feeling disconnected - from yourself, from others, and from a sense of safety or purpose.

Developmental/attachment trauma happens when early relationships—especially with caregivers—don’t provide consistent safety, care, or emotional connection. Even without obvious abuse, growing up feeling unseen, unsupported, or misunderstood can leave lasting imprints on how we view ourselves and how safe we feel with others. It often shows up in adulthood as difficulty trusting or getting close, fear of rejection, feeling “too much” or “not enough,” or cycles of disconnection in relationships.

Counselling offers a steady, compassionate space to explore these patterns, ease their weight, and begin to feel more grounded and connected.

Many men face unique challenges in seeking help and expressing vulnerability. Some feel pressure from social expectations, while others fear judgment, struggle to find the right words, or feel the strain of needing to “keep it together”. In our work together, I aim to create a space where men can explore what’s been painful, strengthen emotional awareness, and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

I also help clients navigate anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, identity concerns, shame, and addiction, whether or not it is clear if trauma is part of their story. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin - we can start wherever you feel ready.

My Approach

I believe our responses—cognitive, emotional, physical, relational—make sense in the context of what we’ve been through. Much of the work I do focuses on helping people reconnect with themselves and others, especially after experiences that have left them feeling unsafe.

Therapy with me often involves slowing down, being curious, and learning to relate differently to what’s been painful, protective, or long avoided. It’s work that happens in relationship, with care and consistency.

Training

I hold a master’s degree in counselling and have completed additional training in trauma-focused and experiential approaches to healing. My work is informed by trauma-focused and experiential approaches that support deeper connection - to yourself and to others. I also bring lived experience to this work, which shapes how I sit with others—with steadiness, humility, and deep respect.
