Areas of Focus

People seek counselling for many reasons, and each person’s story is unique. Here are some of the concerns I work with in my practice:

Complex Trauma

When difficult experiences repeat over time — such as neglect, abuse, or relational harm — they can leave a lasting impact. This doesn’t always appear as clear memories, but often as anxiety, depression, shame, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Together, we can explore how these experiences are affecting you now and begin to find steadier ground.

Developmental / Attachment Trauma

Early relationships with caregivers shape how safe and supported we feel in the world. When emotional needs weren’t met consistently, it can show up later in life as difficulty trusting, fear of rejection, feeling like ‘too much’ or ‘not enough,’ or cycles of disconnection in relationships. Counselling offers a place to notice these patterns and move toward healthier ways of relating.

Men’s Mental Health

Many men describe feeling pressure to “keep it together,” difficulty expressing emotions, or fear of being judged when showing vulnerability. I aim to create a supportive space where men can bring these struggles into the open, explore identity and relationships, and build new ways of connecting.

Additional Concerns

I also frequently work with:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Relationship challenges

  • Shame and self-criticism

  • Coping patterns and addiction

You don’t need to have everything figured out or the “right words” to begin. Counselling can start with whatever feels most important to you right now.
